WEST HOLLYWOOD, June 3, 2025 – The City of West Hollywood is inviting members of the community to participate in a new process to envision the future of Plummer Park. The City will be crafting a new, community-driven plan for the park, and public input will play a key role in this process. The Plummer Park Comprehensive Improvement Plan is intended to be a highly participatory, with many forms of outreach and opportunities for broad stakeholder input.
The first phase of the Plummer Park Comprehensive Improvement Plan – Assessment, Outreach, and Programming – will kick off with two upcoming community meetings:
- West Hollywood City Council Plummer Park Ad-Hoc Subcommittee Meeting on Wednesday, June 11, 2025 starting at 5 p.m. at the Plummer Park Community Center, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard in Rooms 5 and 6. In this meeting, an overall community engagement approach will be presented to the members of the Plummer Park Ad-Hoc Subcommittee. Community members who are interested in providing public comment are encouraged to attend. E-mail comments on matters before the Plummer Park Ad-Hoc Subcommittee may be sent to City of West Hollywood Project Architect Michael Barker at mbarker@weho.org no later than 2 p.m. on Wednesday, June 11, 2025.
- Community Brainstorm Workshop on Saturday, July 12, 2025 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Plummer Park’s Fiesta Hall, located at 7377 Santa Monica Boulevard. This collaborative workshop will gather ideas, feedback, and insights from a diverse group of West Hollywood community members to harness collective creativity, knowledge, and experiences that will inform planning and decision-making for the Plummer Park Comprehensive Improvement Plan. Check www.weho.org/calendar to confirm event details closer to the workshop date.
During Summer 2025, there will be community pop-up events, topical group conversations, and community listening sessions. Event details will be provided at a later date. Learn more about upcoming opportunities to take part in these engagement gatherings and sign up for updates and notifications through the City’s Engage WeHo Project Page. Project staff from the City’s Urban Design and Architecture Studio Division will be on-hand at these events to provide information about Plummer Park’s history, current uses, and programming, and to receive feedback from community members.
This process will revisit and build on a wide range of ideas identified by the community to enhance the park, while preserving the elements that make it vibrant and beloved today. These include creating a more unified and cohesive park layout, improving clear sight lines, lighting, and security features to promote public safety, and offering diverse opportunities for enjoyment — from quiet areas for reading and reflection, to designated spaces for both young children and teens. Future improvements will also honor Plummer Park’s rich history, existing cultural resources, and existing memorials, while increasing tree canopy coverage and ensuring safe and engaging play areas for all ages, creating a more welcoming, inclusive, and vibrant environment for the community at Plummer Park.
